ScanBalt BioRegion at Life Science Baltics 2012: The Baltic Sea Region as a competitive Health and Bio-Economy

The Life Science Baltic 2012 conference September 12 – 14 in Vilnius will host a session 13 September "The Baltic Sea Region as a competitive Health and Bio-Economy".

The session is to discuss activities within the EU Baltic Sea Region strategy’s flagship ScanBalt Health Region and the EU supported project BSHR HealthPort.  A status will be given for the Lithuanian Biotech Industry which plays a crucial role in promoting Lithuania as a knowledge-based health and bio-economy.

Key issues for the session are innovation, access of SME ´s to the Health care market in the Baltic Sea Region and the need to raise the profile of health and bio-economy.

The session will additionally discuss the importance of a Baltic Alliance against multi-resistant bacteria.
