Life sciences have a major potential to contribute to health, welfare and prosperity. However, the application of life sciences also presents potential threats and dilemmas to society. Sustainable growth is obtained through an open dialogue between science and society; hence ScanBalt will promote and establish platforms to discuss the dilemmas of e.g biotechnology. We are respecting the national bioethical guidelines as well as using the Helsinki declaration as our fundamental guideline.
