BOOSTING BALTIC FP6 - PROJECT SUMMARY

In FP5 the National Contact Points (NCP) system was put into place in Member States (MS) and the Associated Candidate Countries (ACC).

Boosting Baltic FP6 wil increase NCP competences on FP6 programs and related knowledge and expand the NCP area of action. Boosting Baltic FP6 will promote advanced partnerships, entrepreneurship and competitiveness.

Boosting Baltic FP6 constitutes an integrated set of networking, training and coaching measures by working parallel on two target groups: The NCPs of Estonia, Latvia, Lithuania and Poland and, as a show-case model for sufficient technology transfer, the Life Science research community.

The NCP competence lift and expanded area of action will be reached through networking of ACC and MS partners for Best Practice exchange, in-depth analysis for the optimization of NCP tasks, training workshops on specific FP6 topics and coached set-up of national NCP events in the ACC.

The Life Science community competence lift and expanded area of action will be achieved through FP6 information seminars and partnering workshops to identify and motivate potential collaboration for joint activities, introduction of an expert panel and of ScanBalt competences to accelerate the linkage to specialists in all relevant fields in the Life Science community. Information gathering activities such as competence mapping, an electronic guide, publications and disseminations will back both target groupsī need for new knowledge on local and regional capabilities.

Boosting Baltic FP 6 is based on the close cooperation of 3 MS partners (ScanBalt, Steinbeis Technology Transfer and the Swedish EU R&D council) and 4 ACC partners in order to facilitate a mutual exchange and learning process.

Boosting Baltic FP6 will be closely linked to activities in the ongoing formation of ScanBalt. Thus increased participation in successful FP6 applications and enhanced competitiveness by the Life Science community in ACC will be reached.
