BOOSTING BALTIC FP6 - LITHUANIAN INNOVATION CENTRE



The Innovation Centre is located in the Vilnius Cluster.

The purpose of the Lithuanian Innovation Centre is to encourage and develop the Lithuanian scientific potential, increasing economic competitiveness, creating new jobs and ensuring successful integration of Lithuania into the International Market. Since 1996 the Lithuanian Innovation Centre has been involved in 19 national and international cooperation projects.

Sun Rise Valley - Technology Cluster

Saulėtekis, which is part of Vilnius, is expected to become the location of the cluster called Saulėtekis Valley. This area offers a favourable location for the cluster because of a large concentration of research and development institutes and projects. The area already has a clustering of biotechnology companies and is anticipated to grow. A biotechnology science park is soon to be established.

TRAIN-NET FP 5 Project

Lithuania participated in this FP5 project, the aim of which was to raise the quantity and quality of research projects from the newly associated states in the “Quality of Life and Management of Living Resources” programme of the 5th Framework Programme by supporting the NCP systems of these countries. TRAIN-NET’s aim was to support FP5 activities of the partners using seminars and preparing competency documents.
