REGENERATIVE MEDICINE

Aim

The aim of the collaboration is the rapid bench-to-beside translation of novel strategies in Regenerative Medicine.

Through interaction between the ScanBalt Universities and relevant partners existing high-level research is bundled and high-quality education is offered.

The basic research fields are:

  •  stem cell technology, control of stem cell (de)differentiation and improvement of the ability to manipulate stem cell proliferation and differentiation
  • bioinformatics-systemsbiological research to reveal the most relevant complexities of signalising systems being involved in the differentiation of stem cells of different origins
  • research in Tissue engineering, cell matrix interactions and biomaterials including identification and development of small molecules that can influence differentiation

With this Knowledge Network we will:

  • generate synergies and establish the best possible exploitation of common resources
  • coordinate existing and future cooperation and financial support
  • attract competent and motivated people, good ideas and money
  • promote the application of cell therapies and development of small molecules regulating and modifying cell differentiation for the benefits of the patients
  • develop and establish new techniques in stem cell isolation, expansion and processing including biomaterials and drugs
  • promote clinical translation to the treatment of cardiovascular, neurological, bone, cartilage, immunologic and metabolic disease through clinical studies in specialized units
  • transfer to cell production technology, pharmacological and medical device technology in cooperation with the industrial partners
  • set up quality systems and standardization (GLP, GCP, GMP)
  • include Know how in law & ethics, patenting etc. from the beginning
