ScanBalt Masters Program Curricula

First draft

General Curricula Courses at several universities and institutes

The ScanBalt Master Programs aims to improve brain circulation in ScanBalt BioRegion and the idea is that the student will visit all the best universities, companies, hospitals/university hospitals and other actors, all sharing life sciences/biotechnology as a common base. ScanBalt Master Programs provides a cross-disciplinary education in a number of trans-national thematic knowledge networks.

The ScanBalt Master Program partners have complementing expertise beyond what any partner alone can offer. The partners in each ScanBalt Masters Program are listed in the Program Curricula.

The education consists of visits to different partners in the thematic networks. The visits are planned as 5 week full time courses, where the local university gives the course certificate. One or several of the universities will be responsible for the ScanBalt Master Program and will also issue the International Masters Degree. The number of 5-weeks courses should be at least 12 and in time planned so a student could follow them during 3 semesters. The 4 semester will be the 20 week thesis work. The courses in the ScanBalt Masters Program are listed in the Program Curricula. An individual study plan will be determined together with each student depending on abilities and background. This may involve substituting some courses for others in the wide spectrum of courses available in the subject area.

Courses could just be given by universities and institutes that have a national acceptance for giving higher education credits. The thesis work could be given in cooperation between such a university and an institute in the subject area.
