Poland is a dynamically developing country, full of well educated young people who are ambitious and eager to succeed. Poland is also the largest country from among those that recently acceded to the EU in Central Europe. Our country has 38 million consumers, but also has a great potential in millions of very well educated personnel.
LIFE SCIENCE IN POLAND
The strengths in Polish biotechnology are clearly in the field of research and development. In addition to its well educated young people and its high level of education in natural and engineering sciences, its legislation system (especially the ”gene law”) and its excellent geographic location are big advantages for the development of biotechnology in Poland. There are a couple of leading science centres spread over the country. A concentration of biotechnological activities takes place in the cities of Gdansk, Poznan, Warsaw, Lodz, Wroclaw and Cracow
STUDY IN POLAND
Since 2007/2008 academic year Polish higher education system has been divided to three stages, which are: Bachelor (Licencjat, Inżynier), Master (Magister), and Doctor (Doktor). This system applies to all fields of education except Law, Pharmacy, Psychology, Veterinary Medicine, Medicine and Dentistry, which are still based on two-stage system (Master and Doctor).
Poland has signed the Bologna Declaration along with 29 other countries, aiming to create the European Area of Higher Education. Institutions of higher education in Poland have implemented the ECTS (European Credit Transfer System).
